Another way to look at this is that the allegations are totally false and the payoff was to avoid a long and costly court process that would seriously hamper Ronaldo's profile and branding, costing him significantly more than £300k.
Women who lie about rape and men who commit rape should be shot.

She has obviously blown the 300k and now wants justice for herself. I make no allowances for things such as rape but if you are offered money to keep quiet and you accept it then surely you have lost all moral high ground and any defence lawyer would use this as the best possible way to defame your character and credibility.

Makes people think he's straight.
Gets his dough back from the accuser for breaking their deal.
Gets the brutal bumming he clearly desires every day continuously in prison for free.
He's played a blinder here.

Twenty years ago, she was asking for it, and her own mother would have told her so. Ten years ago she was able to withdraw consent at any point up until penetration. Now it appears she can withdraw consent for anything up to 36 years after the Kleenexes have been exchanged.

So she's filmed in the hours before kissing him and grinding up against him and then presumably voluntarily goes up to his room. Nobody knows what went on in there but if there's truth in her claims, her behaviour in the hours before doesn't exactly help in demonstrating a non-consensual act.
I'm not defending the fella and it may well be true that some bad shit went down but you've got to do yourself a favour in these situations girls.
